Esmay Wagemans is an Amsterdam based sci-fi sculpture artist born in 1992, influenced by her fascination with human science, chemistry, technology and her studies in Transformation Design at Willem de Kooning Academy. Graduating in 2017 with a minor in Hacking, she began experimenting with molding and casting techniques, focusing on themes as cyborg bodies and humanoid robots. Inspired by her love for sci-fi, Wagemans uses human molds to explore technology's and society’s impact on our bodies. Her work combines material explorations and the human form, often resulting in (wearable) sculptures showcased in futuristic scenes or collaborative projects with artists like Solange and Cardi B.
